The Algarve
on Portugal's southwest coast- is Europe's favourite golfing
destination due to it's many world-class golf courses, excellent
amenities and warm and dry playing conditions. Each golf course
offers a unique design taking advantage of the local landscape
allowing the golfer a challenging yet pleasurable game.
For the second time the Algarve was voted the “Established
Golf Destination of the Year 2006”, having previously
won the award in 2000. This title was awarded to the region
by the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO).
There are over 30 golf courses in the Algarve, ranging from
9-hole courses stretched over the Algarve grassland, to dramatic
coastal 18-hole courses set amongst the picturesque cliffs.
The quality layout of the courses, many of them designed by
the very best international architects, coupled with the sheer
beauty of the surrounding landscapes, meets the demands of
golfers of all levels. Indeed, the region has become a firm
favourite among golfers from all around the world.
